Central Valley

Welcome to the Central Valley Region at Aspire Public Schools! The Central Valley Region has 16 schools in the communities of Sacramento, Stockton, Modesto, and Ceres. The Central Valley was Aspire’s first region, with University Charter School (Modesto) and Vincent Shalvey Academy (Stockton) opening in 1999. Our most recent additions to the region were the opening of Aspire Benjamin Holt Middle School in 2016, and Aspire Stockton Secondary Academy and Aspire Stockton Elementary in 2020. We currently serve over 6,700 students across the region.

Central Valley Leadership Team

Executive Director’s Message

It is my pleasure to welcome you to the 2022-2023 school year. We have been through so much over the past few years with the pandemic and the polarization of our political environment that it feels like a breath of fresh air to open the year live and in person. The excitement and energy our scholars bring is contagious.  This is my 20th year with Aspire but my first year as Executive Director. Having been an elementary teacher, a middle school math teacher, an elementary principal and a secondary principal before moving into the regional office as an associate and then regional superintendent I feel in many ways I have grown up in Aspire.

This year our theme is Believe, Belong, Become. These three phrases symbolize how we want to return to the new year aligned with our priorities. We know that the pandemic took a toll on our scholars and we are dedicated to rebuilding the social-emotional and academic skills to be ready for the bright future ahead. We are also excited to engage with our families and staff this year re-envisioning our Mission and Vision at Aspire. We will be holding a series of community engagement opportunities to gather input to guide the direction of the organization.

Thank you families for trusting us with your most prized possession, your children. We have a duty to deliver a world class education to thank you for that trust.

In Service,

Anthony Solina
