Principal’s Message

Alexander Twilight Secondary Academy Families,

Welcome to another exciting school year! It is truly an honor to continue serving as the principal of Alexander Twilight Secondary Academy. Every year brings new opportunities to grow, learn, and strengthen the incredible community that makes our school such a special place.

At Alexander Twilight, we believe every student deserves to feel seen, challenged, supported, and inspired. Our commitment extends beyond academics—we strive to prepare students for success in college, careers, and life by creating meaningful learning experiences that help every student discover their passions and potential.

We are proud to offer a strong college and career pathway beginning in middle school and extending through high school. Through our outstanding Dual Enrollment partnerships with American River College and Sacramento State University, students can earn college credit while still in high school. Our Business and Healthcare Pathways through American River College, along with our Technology Arts Pathway in partnership with Sacramento State, provide students with authentic experiences that prepare them for future careers and higher education.

Our students thrive because of the many opportunities available beyond the classroom. Whether participating in athletics, clubs, Project-Based Learning experiences, leadership opportunities, visual and performing arts, or our many monthly celebrations and family events, we believe every student should have opportunities to explore their interests, build confidence, and develop lifelong skills.

Students also receive the academic support they need to be successful through:

  • Weekly teacher office hours and small-group instruction
  • Individualized one-on-one support
  • Access to our online family portal, allowing families to monitor grades, communicate with teachers, and track student progress throughout the year

We are especially proud of our welcoming and inclusive school community. Alexander Twilight embraces learners from every background, and our comprehensive English Language Development (ELD) program provides dedicated support for both our middle school and high school multilingual learners as they build language proficiency while excelling academically.

Students can explore their interests through a wide variety of electives and extracurricular opportunities, including Physical Education, Running Club, Garden Club, Book Club, Guitar Club, Art Club, Black Student Union (BSU), Chess Club, Leadership, and many other student organizations that continue to grow each year.

One of our greatest strengths is the partnership we share with our families and community. We are grateful for the ongoing support of our community partners, including our local Rotary Club, whose commitment helps expand opportunities for our students. Together, we know that educating children is a shared responsibility. When schools, families, and community partners work together, students thrive.

Thank you for trusting us with your child’s education. We look forward to partnering with you throughout the year as we celebrate accomplishments, overcome challenges, and help every student reach their fullest potential.
