Principal’s Message

Welcome from Principal Donahue
Este mensaje está disponible en español aquí.

I am honored to serve as your principal. My path in education began in the Spanish classroom and has grown through teacher leadership, assistant principal, and principal roles across California school communities. I am also a bilingual educator, and I look forward to building strong partnerships with our families and making sure every parent and guardian feels informed, welcomed, and included.

What I Believe

Every student at Summit Charter Academy has the potential to be an amazing success. My job is to make sure your child believes that too.

I believe schools work best when students feel capable, families feel like partners, and the adults in the building trust and learn from one another. That is the environment I am committed to building here. Not just a school where students show up, but a place where they feel they belong, where their voices matter, and where the work we do together prepares them for everything that comes next.

Our Focus This Year

Summit Charter Academy is committed to rigorous, engaging learning, and I am proud to lead a school where Project-Based Learning puts students at the center of their education. In addition to our strong instructional program, I am focused on three priorities this year:

Every student reading and growing. Literacy is the foundation of everything else we do. I am committed to ensuring every student has access to high-quality instruction, the right supports, and adults who know where they are and what they need.

Every family a true partner. I believe families are not just welcome in this school — they are essential to it. I will work to create real opportunities for families to be informed, engaged, and heard, and I am especially committed to making sure our Spanish-speaking families feel that partnership fully.

A school where every student belongs. Academic success and a sense of belonging are not separate goals. Students do their best learning when they feel safe, seen, and valued. Building that culture is everyone’s responsibility, and it starts with leadership.

I look forward to learning your names, hearing what matters to your family, and building something great together this year.

With warmth and partnership,
Latricia Donahue
