Principal’s Message

July 1, 2022

Dear Families and Wildcats,

Welcome to the 2022-23 school year! My name is Larrise Lane, serving as your principal for the fourth year!  This is my 18th year in education and 15 years with Aspire. This year I will earn my Aspire letterman jacket! I have a strong academic background, serving as a classroom teacher, instructional coach, assessment writer, and dean of instruction. That said, combined with the need to excel students, we plan to push forward in rigorous instruction in partnership with our diligent work we have done in SEL.

We will dive deep in reading instruction, as it is the foundation to learning, hone in on social-emotional needs/growth areas, provide scholars leadership opportunities, engage in family events and continue to make APEX a great school-home for all stakeholders; scholars, families and staff.  We do this by celebrating each person’s identity.

One thing to know about me is that I love kids, families and our staff.  I make decisions that are best for all stakeholders, listen and discuss matters and decisions with those involved.   Dedicated and driven, I am a lifelong learner.  Moreover, I understand all stakeholders have  knowledge to give and I honor that.

Here are some random things to know about me. 🙂

  • I am a native of South Stockton- my mother and brother still live there, so I visit the site of our NEW school quite often and am very well versed in the area.
  • That said, our new school is currently being constructed in the Sierra Vista community- built with two stories from the ground up with all state of the art materials. Playground equipment was picked out in June!
  • I am a member of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Incorporated- Thee first Black Sorority.
  • Scarves, earrings and shoes are “my thing.”
  • My favorite colors are black, white, yellow and orange.
  • I spent some of my summer in Costa Rica and Mexico.

I cannot wait to hear about your summer when you come to school on day one, August 1st, 2022.  Upon entering, listen for the music and look for the bright smiles as we welcome you.

Peace and blessings, Ms. Lane
