Melissa Brookens

Melissa Brookens joined Aspire in 2010 and currently serves as the Superintendent for the Central Valley region. A proud Stockton native and first-generation college graduate, Melissa began her journey as a founding educator at Aspire APEX Academy, where she served as teacher, principal resident, and principal. Her belief in breaking cycles of inequity fuels her commitment to championing joy, belonging, and academic excellence for all scholars. Melissa is especially proud to lead efforts aligned to Aspire’s Vision 2030, ensuring every scholar experiences culturally responsive instruction and strong school leadership.
