Substitute Teachers

Thank you for your interest in substitute teaching at Aspire Public Schools. Scoot Education, a third-party organization, manages all of Aspire’s absence requests. 

What are the qualifications to be a Substitute Teacher?
Scoot works with a variety of educators with ranging experiences. All educators must have a CBEST, complete a TB test, and undergo a Live Scan. Scoot pays for your TB test and Live Scan. For lead substitute teacher roles, a 30-day emergency substitute permit or CA credential is required.

New to the substitute teaching world? No worries, they’ve got a place for you! See Scoot’s article on how to become a substitute teacher. They provide work opportunities in lead teaching, teaching assistants, paraprofessionals, after-school care, and more. You’ll need to take some steps before stepping into a classroom, but as long as you have a Bachelor’s degree and a passion for providing an exceptional day of learning, they want to hear from you!
