Principal’s Message

Dear Wildcat Families and Scholars,

Welcome to a brand new school year! I’m honored to greet each of you with excitement, hope, and a powerful message: you are capable of more than you know—and we’re here to learn and grow together. This year, we’re grounded in a theme that speaks to our mindset, our mission, and our momentum: The Power of Yet: Big Goals, Big Growth.

At the heart of our work is a deep belief in every student’s ability to grow intellectually, emotionally, and socially. Whether a student says, “I can’t do this math problem,” or “I’m not a strong reader,” we are adding one word to the end of that sentence: YET. That single word turns roadblocks into pathways. It reminds us that learning is not a finish line—it’s a journey built on persistence, curiosity, and courage.

We will push toward big goals this year. That means:

  • Instruction that challenges and supports every learner,
  • Data-driven plans that adjust to what each student needs
  • Accountability: owning your actions and choices—it’s the key to growth, trust, and achieving your goals
  • And a commitment to equity, where every student’s identity, voice, and background are honored as strengths in our community.

We believe students thrive when they see themselves reflected in the curriculum, respected in the classroom, and connected to a purpose beyond themselves. That’s why we’re also cultivating leadership through acts of service—building a school culture where helping others is not just encouraged, but expected.

Families, your partnership is critical. When students see us working together—school and home—they grow not just in skill, but in confidence. Talk to your children about their goals. Celebrate their effort. Remind them that struggle is part of growth, and that their future is not fixed—it’s shaped by their hard work. Also, let’s ensure that every child is at school daily and on time. We can do this!

To our Wildcats:
This year, we believe in your dreams—even the ones that feel far away. We believe in your effort, even when the results take time. We believe in your voice, your story, and your power. And most importantly, we believe that with focus, a strong work ethic, and belief in yourself, you will grow beyond what you ever thought possible.

Let’s get to work. Let’s get to growth.

With pride and purpose,
Ms. Lane
