Larrise Lane

Principal

Bio

With 21 years in education and 18 years proudly serving with Aspire Public Schools, I’ve devoted my career to teaching, leading, and inspiring. I’ve had the joy of teaching preschool, along with 2nd through 5th grades. I’ve grown through roles as an instructional coach, adjunct professor, dean of instruction, and now principal at APEX for the last seven years.. My journey began in second grade when I knew I wanted to teach, and that passion has only deepened with time.

A proud product of the very community I now serve—just two blocks from where I grew up—I hold a Bachelor’s degree in Liberal Studies and a Master’s in Reading and Literacy. I love coaching educators, helping others grow, and creating a culture where students and staff alike feel supported, challenged, and loved. I have a keen vision for my school and have a relentless focus on literacy instruction, creating assessments and curriculum, fostering belonging and student identity along with providing equitable resource access to children, families, and staff.

When I’m not leading in schools, I’m volunteering with Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Incorporated, spending quality time with my family and two dogs, or finding new ways to pour into the community that shaped me. I’m driven by a strong work ethic and an even stronger belief that the best legacy we can leave is one filled with love, support, and the spread of knowledge. Education isn’t just my job—it’s my calling.
