Laura Skavdahl

My name is Laura Skavdahl, the proud Dean of Students of Aspire APEX Academy; home of the Wildcats in Downtown Stockton. This year will be my 12th year with Aspire Public Schools, 21th overall! I can’t imagine my life without the students and crew at APEX. In my free time, I enjoy spending time with my family and friends, travelling and reading.

I started my teaching career in Chico as a part time PE teacher at Chico Jr. High School after I graduated from California State University, Chico with a degree in K-12 PE. Moving to the Central Valley from the North Valley was a good move for me.  I taught at Salida Middle School for 8 years and loved the experience.  Circumstances changed and I found myself at APEX Academy and I have not looked back. As part of this wonderful community, I have served as a PE teacher, peer observer, lead teacher, and testing coordinator.  I am blessed daily to interact with all stakeholders and look forward to many more years serving the students and families of Stockton.
