Yuliana Acevedo

Expanded Learning Site Director

Bio

My name is Yuliana Acevedo, and I am proud to serve as the Expanded Learning Program Director at Aspire APEX Academy. I hold a Bachelor’s degree in Spanish and Communications and a Master’s degree in Child Development, where I completed extensive research on the whole development of children. My graduate studies equipped me with the skills to analyze data, design and implement child and family interventions, and create student-centered strategies that support both academic and social-emotional growth.

I have been in education for over seven years, serving in different roles, including bilingual education, special education, and most recently as a 5th-grade elementary teacher. As the daughter of immigrants, I came to the United States at the age of 15, and my personal journey has shaped my passion for education and my deep commitment to serving the community I am part of.

At Aspire APEX Academy, I take pride in leading the Expanded Learning Program as a space where students can continue to learn, explore, and grow beyond the school day. My goal is to ensure that every child feels seen. I believe strongly in the importance of family partnerships, and I work to create meaningful connections with parents and guardians so that together we can build strong foundations for student success. Serving my community means advocating for students’ needs and building a culturally responsive program.

Education, to me, is about much more than academics; it is about fostering belonging, resilience, and lifelong skills that students will carry with them throughout their lives. I feel truly blessed each day to be part of the APEX community and to walk alongside our students and families on their educational journeys.

In my free time, I enjoy spending time with my family, doing pilates, going on hikes, and discovering new coffee shops—I especially love a good matcha latte.
