Principal’s Message

Dear scholars, families and community,

On behalf of Aspire APEX Academy, we welcome you to the 2024-25 school year. My name is Larrise Lane, principal of Aspire APEX Academy, home of the Wildcats.  APEX Academy prides itself in service, equitable resources and practices and valuing all for their authentic selves.

APEX Academy, founded in 2010  is an elementary (TK-5) school which educates 377 students. We are a staff of 50 humans diligently working in the heart of Sierra Vista Housing Development. Our school mantra is “We are smart, we lead and more importantly…we SERVE.”

As your principal, I am a South Stockton native; in fact I grew up one block away from APEX. It is an honor to give back to our community. This marks my 20th year in education; 17 years with Aspire Public Schools. My career spans from preschool, 2nd, 3rd, 4th, and 5th grade teacher, instructional coach, dean of students and beginning my 6th year as principal. As principal, I believe that every student is brilliant and deserves access to high quality education.

I am the children which I serve. I have experienced some of the best that the universe has to offer, and have come from humble beginnings. My life experience, integrity, deep reflection, humble spirit,  professionalism, ability to coach individuals from within, instructional capacity and nimbleness has allowed me to connect and make a difference for a plethora of humans from many walks of life. To know me is to become a part of my family. Those same values of family, love and integrity is how I ask and model for my staff to lead.

We welcome you as a new or returning family member to a revitalized second year in our brand new building on Belleview Avenue! We will maximize instructional planning, rigor, expectations and meaningful experiences. We look forward to serving our APEX Wildcats by helping them meet their goals and have a lot of fun doing it!

Sawubona, (In Zulu, I see you
