  • Timely notices of board meetings and other school committee meetings that involve parents.
  • Meetings held/interpreted in Spanish and English.
  • Opportunities to share thoughts and opinions through email and ParentSquare, the interactive parent communication platform used by the school.

Principal’s Message

Dear Families,

I want to officially welcome all of you to the 2018- 2019 School Year! For those of you who are new to our school, I want you to know that you are joining an incredible team. Our teachers and staff are passionate, caring, hardworking, and always learning something new for the benefit of your children. We are a collaborative and driven group of people who take your children’s learning seriously.

The 2018-2019 school year marks Aspire JCA’s twelfth year serving the community of Huntington Park. We continue to be truly focused on ensuring we are meeting our mission of fostering a community of lifelong learners who are truly on the path of College for Certain. This year, we are continuing our relationships with Education through Music Los Angeles and Inner City Arts, as well as launching a technology class and a social-emotional learning curriculum.

I am thrilled at the opportunity to get to know all of you this year and engage in the educational process together. I also recognize the awesome responsibility on my shoulders. I believe that building strong relationships between home and school is a key factor in increasing student achievement. I also believe that parental involvement is an essential component to student success, as research continues to show strong correlation between increased involvement and increased student learning. We many opportunities for parents to participate in our school community, from a parent book club to joining our School Site Council to participating in parent workshops on the common core standards.

I look forward to working with each and every one of you and welcome you once again to the JCA community!

Celinda Guerrero,
Principal, Aspire Junior Collegiate Academy
