Aspire APEX Academy voted ‘Best Charter School’ – Again!
For the second year in a row, Aspire APEX Academy was voted Best Charter School from the Best of San Joaquin Magazine 2020 Awards: “Aspire Apex Academy ranked number one this year for best charter school in the county. The K-5 elementary prepares a diverse population of children for the next steps in their educational career, getting every student started on the right foot.”
Principal Larrise Lane expressed her gratitude for the San Joaquin County community members who voted and what an honor it is for the school to receive the award. “[Aspire] APEX Academy holds a very special place in my heart, and we are so honored that our school received the ‘Best of the Best Charter School’ for the second year in a row,” Lane said.
Lane further shared the school’s history in Stockton and the local community it continues to serve. “10 years ago, APEX’s founding principal and team made a commitment to provide high-quality education to APEX Wildcat scholars, Ten years later, as APEX’s newest leader, I remain committed to that promise and hold a laser focus on identity, social justice, and high-quality standards,” Lane shared.
“I am most proud of our focus on service. As a school in Stockton working to do what is best for our scholars and families, we will continue to go “above and beyond” to be of support to our families and the community at large. The entire APEX community – scholars, families, and staff – also understands that being our authentic selves and supporting one another not only “fills our buckets” but our community’s,” she continued.
Aspire APEX’s Dean of Students, Robert McDonald IV, also shared a few sentiments on receiving the award. “It is exciting to receive the Best of San Joaquin magazine award as a representation of the dedication to community building at Aspire APEX Academy,” McDonald said.
McDonald ties Aspire APEX’s success with the strong foundation it holds in its school mantra and the quality communication and support they provide alongside each of its scholars, teammates, and families. “Our success has come with sharing and expressing value in authentic communication every day. I am grateful to our families, students, and faculty for contributing their all every day! Here at APEX, ‘We are Smart, We Lead, and more importantly, We Serve!’ Thank you,” McDonald expressed.
