What is "Blended Learning"?

In general, most people doing blended learning these days subscribe to the Innosight Institute's definition for blended learning:
Blended learning is a formal education program in which a student learns at least in part through online delivery of content and instruction with some element of student control over time, place, path and/or pace and at least in part at a supervised brick-and-mortar location away from home.

Blended learning models may hold significant potential to transform teaching and learning and/or may allow us to address existing challenges. These models are attracting significant attention from both school systems and funders. We are exploring whether there are blended learning models (existing or not) that would allow us to have an even greater impact on our students and better utilize our talent, in a way that contributes to our financial sustainability.
