Aspire is CA's top-performing large school system serving two-thirds or more low-income students.
Based on the newly released 2011-12 API Scores, Aspire Public Schools ranks #1 among large districts with 2/3 of more low-income students for the third year in a row.
Statement from Aspire CEO James Willcox:
"Aspire's overall API score of 816 made it the highest-performing large school system in California serving 2/3 high-poverty students. In addition to this great API score, we're also incredibly proud that almost two thirds of Aspire's schools exceeded the state's target for a high-performing school."
"These results are an incredible tribute to the determination of our team and their commitment to our students. They have refused to let this economic crisis derail our students' journey to college. Our teachers and school leaders are truly changing the odds for some of the most underserved students in the state. With their hard work, passion, and creativity, we will deliver on the promise we make from the first day of Kindergarten: College for Certain."
