Tamara Williams

Principal

Bio

Tamara, like her mother and father, was raised in Pittsburg, CA. It was there that she developed a love for the importance of family and community.
She followed in her father’s footsteps by attending the University of California, Davis. It was there that she found her passion for education.
Over the last 25 years, Tamara has taught 3rd-8th-grade students in private, traditional public, and charter schools. Her focus was on improving comprehension skills and inspiring a love of reading.

Ms. Williams has spent the last 9 years opening 3 charter schools, serving as founding principal, coaching new principals, and working to create a strong community connection between home, school, and local organizations. She believes that great schools operate with systems that provide clear expectations. Quality instruction is engaging and provides equal access to ALL students.

Her leadership begins with the belief that all kids can and will learn.. The key is the relationships and trust that we build with students, which help them flourish. Students need to know that we care about them and believe that they can succeed. She is relentless in her efforts to reach all students.
Tamara is a mother of 2 daughters and a new grandma to a beautiful granddaughter. Family is everything to her. She enjoys nature, is a true foodie, and loves to read and travel. When school is not in session, she is probably on a road trip.
