Bio

Stephen Ashford, born in East Palo Alto and raised in Richmond, California, has dedicated 26 years to teaching at EPACS, where all three of his children have attended EPACS. A proud alumnus of the College of Marin and Concordia University in Chicago, Stephen excelled in athletics, lettering in both football and track during high school and college. In addition to his teaching career, Stephen is a passionate musician and filmmaker. He released an acclaimed children’s album titled “Never Give Up” and “When I Grow Up,” which achieved the number one spot on music streaming charts for best kids’ albums. His commitment to education and the arts has not gone unnoticed; in 2005, he was honored as the Dennis Richmond Teacher of the Year and was a runner-up for the NBC Sports All-Star Teacher Award. Stephen is deeply committed to his community and strives to provide an inclusive and enriching environment for all students at EPACS. His multifaceted talents and unwavering dedication make him a beloved figure in both the school and the wider community.
