Deloris Brown

Deloris Brown, the new Principal at Golden State College Preparatory Academy, is a distinguished educator with over twelve years of experience in education. Her dedication to student achievement through equity and inclusion has been a lifelong commitment. Deloris grew up in northern Illinois and started her educational career teaching high school history/social sciences, and became a teacher leader in Springfield, IL. Ms. Brown holds a Bachelor’s in History Education and Political Science and a Master’s in Education Administration from Illinois State University. 

In addition, Ms. Brown is currently working toward a doctorate degree and anticipates completion in 2021. For the last seven years she has been supporting and leading students, families, and educational professionals as a building principal in Urbana and Decatur IL. Deloris has experience as a building leader at the middle and high school levels. Deloris Brown’s educational background and personal experiences have helped shape her philosophy of education.

Ms. Brown believes all students are capable of success and learning at the highest level possible. She loves to inspire and encourage students and education professionals to be the best they can be in and out of the classroom! Ms. Brown is amazed at the opportunity to lead and feels grateful to partner with such incredible people in assisting every child at GSP to ignite their personal genius!!
