PrincipalBio
I have been blessed to serve Northern California’s East Bay for 22 years in the field of education. For fifteen of those years, I’ve served as a public school administrator in the culturally rich and diverse cities of Hayward and Oakland.
Starting in the 2025–26 school year, I am honored to expand my leadership as Principal of both Aspire College Academy and Aspire Triumph Technology Academy, two co-located schools in East Oakland. I look forward to continuing to lead the incredible ACA Jaguars while also supporting the dynamic students and families of Triumph Tech.
At ACA, I’ve witnessed tremendous growth in our scholars academically, socially, and emotionally. I’m proud to share that during the 2024–25 school year, ACA students demonstrated remarkable progress in both English Language Arts and Math, as reflected in our local i-Ready assessments and the statewide SBAC/CAASPP tests. Based on these results, ACA is expected to be recognized by the state as having “Increased Significantly” on the California Accountability Dashboard, jumping two levels in academic performance.
Our Transitional Kindergarten and Kindergarten program also made incredible strides last year. Nearly 85% of our youngest Jaguars are performing at or above grade level in reading, making ACA’s TK/K program one of the highest-performing in East Oakland.
As we enter this new chapter, Aspire College Academy and Triumph Tech Academy will continue to serve as pillars of excellence in our community. Our goals remain clear:
- Become the highest-performing public schools in East Oakland
- Ensure that students and families are surrounded with the support they need to thrive; and
- Foster a strong sense of school pride and community spirit.
Before joining Aspire, I served as Principal of Fairview Elementary School, where I helped lead the community through the challenges of the pandemic and guided the development of a comprehensive three-year strategic plan. Before that, during my eight-year tenure as Principal of Southgate Elementary, we built a culture of excellence that led to being ranked the top-performing school in the district and receiving California Distinguished School honors in 2017 and 2019.
Southgate was also recognized by Innovative Public Schools for exceptional outcomes for underserved students. Out of 1,251 Bay Area schools, only 47 met or exceeded standards on the CAASPP for underserved students—Southgate was one of them. In 2018, it was one of just two schools honored as a “Top School” for both Hispanic and African American students in English Language Arts and Math.
It’s been a privilege to lead in this work, and I look forward to what we’ll achieve next, together.
