Principal’s Message

Dear Tate Families,

I am Austin Saddlemire, and I am honored to serve as Tate’s principal. We are so excited about our growth over the past 15 years! Last year we achieved huge milestones, scoring green on the California school dashboard for our reading, math, and science performance, as well as for English Language learner progress. Additionally, we earned the platinum designation (the state’s highest) for CA Positive Behavior Intervention Systems. Beyond that, students excelled in dance, athletics, and student leadership groups like student council and BSU.

2026-2027 will bring shifts as a campus as we grow from 320 students and 13 classrooms to over 450 students and 17 classrooms. Transitions can be hard, and I want you to know we are committed to fostering a safe, supportive, and engaging environment where students can learn and thrive. Our experienced and caring team is committed to providing a well-rounded education that focuses on rigorous academics and the development of essential life skills and character.

We encourage open communication and collaboration between the school, students, and families. Your involvement is crucial to the success of our students, and we are confident that together, we can create a rich and fulfilling educational experience for every child. Our parent coordinator, Ms. Rosi, will share monthly calendars, newsletters, and weekly updates to keep you informed, and your child’s teacher will also be your main contact for all things happening at our school.

I am excited about the upcoming school year and the opportunities it holds for all of us. I’m looking forward to meeting with all of you to hear what you love about Tate, and what we can improve on to best meet the needs of your children. If there is anything you need, please don’t hesitate to let me know.

Your partner in education,

Az
