Sergio Acedo

Sergio Acedo is a 6th-grade English and AVID teacher. Mr. Acedo began his career in Education in 2015 as a High School teacher in Dublin, California. Since then, he has taught grade levels 6th through 12th and various subjects, including History, English, Economics, Physical Education and Computer Science. This is Mr. Acedo’s second year with Aspire, but it is his first year as a full-time teacher in the classroom.
Mr. Acedo holds a BA degree from Patten University in Oakland, California and recently received a master’s degree in leadership (Master of Divinity) from the Pentecostal Theological Seminary in Cleveland, Tennessee. As a first generation Mexican American, born and raised in Tucson, Arizona, Mr. Acedo proudly speaks Spanish. He and his wife, Koel, who is also involved in education, live in Stockton with their two daughters Abigail and Elizabeth Acedo. They enjoy taking road trips together and finding new adventures throughout California and beyond.
Mr. Acedo strives to see the lives of young scholars change for the better as he motivates them to have a growth mindset through education and a strong work ethic.
