Sharon Johnson

Sharon Johnson is an Associate Superintendent for Aspire Public Schools, leading school management, special education, and student services in the Central Valley region—including Aspire APEX Academy, Alexander Twilight College Preparatory Academy, Aspire Arts & Sciences Academy, and Aspire Summit Charter Academy. With over 27 years of experience in California’s charter school communities—including 20 years at Aspire—Sharon’s journey has been shaped by a commitment to educational justice and a passion for building inclusive, rigorous, and culturally responsive systems and practices that support all learners. She brings deep experience in instructional leadership, MTSS, special education, and equity-driven leadership development, having served in roles as a Teacher, Instructional Coach, Principal, Mentor Principal, Senior Director of Schools and Specialized Programs, and Associate Superintendent.  As a white, straight, cisgender woman and ally, and the proud single mother of a neuro-spicy biracial black-and-white young adult, she brings a multifaceted perspective to her work. Sharon is passionate about ceramics, music, and travel-  interests that fuel her creative approach to leadership and remind her that the most meaningful achievements require persistence, preparation, and teamwork.
