Negar Mizani
PrincipalBio
My Name is Negar Mizani, and it is an honor to serve as the principal of Aspire Ollin University Preparatory Academy. I was born in Iran and migrated to the United States at the age of 14, where I learned English as a second language. My journey as an immigrant connects me deeply to this community and fuels my commitment to creating inclusive and liberatory spaces for all scholars and families.
My journey in education began in Denver Public Schools, where I taught Literature, coached fellow teachers, and served as an assistant principal. In 2018, I moved to Los Angeles and joined Alliance College-Ready Public Schools as an assistant principal. Before becoming the principal at Ollin, I led a large, comprehensive high school as principal in the San Gabriel Valley.
I am deeply committed to nurturing Ollin to meet its full potential academically, culturally, and as a collective community. I believe in the transformative power of education and the importance of trust, healing, justice, and liberation.
Outside of school, I love spending time with my husband, Danny (a Los Angeles native), and our daughter, Alula. As a family, we enjoy walks, picnics, exploring nature, traveling, and immersing ourselves in the arts.
