Maribel Sainez

Director of Family Engagement and Community Advocacy

Bio

Maribel Sainez is the Director of Family Engagement & Community Advocacy and works directly with school leaders across all of Aspire’s regions.  Her primary role is to support schools in developing systems and practices that highlight and engage the diverse experiences reflected in the families that we serve. Maribel was born and raised in San Francisco’s Mission District. She is the daughter of immigrant parents, the youngest of four sisters and the first in her family to go to college. Maribel has a BA in Business and Visual Arts from California State University, Monterey Bay. She also attended Universidad Technologico de Monterey in Queretaro, Mexico, and did graduate work at San Francisco State University in Ethnic Studies.  Prior to joining Aspire,  Maribel supported Title 1 programming to schools and families in a large urban school district. Maribel has also provided intervention and prevention services to rising youth of color through local non-profits. She is a proud mother of two children and enjoys the opportunity to live, explore and contribute in her own backyard.
