LaTrese Avery

Ms. Avery is the Assistant Principal at ATSA. Prior to returning to ATSA, Ms. Avery served at ATCPA. Before joining ATCPA, she taught 8th-grade math at ATSA for 7 years. Prior to joining ATSA in 2015, Ms. Avery educated scholars in Atlanta, Georgia as a middle school math teacher and Project G.R.A.D. program manager.

Ms. Avery earned her Bachelor of Arts Degree in Psychology from the #1 HBCU, Spelman College, where she was a Corella & Bertram F. Bonner Scholar. Ms. Avery has a huge passion for nurturing our future generations of doctors, scientists, explorers, hair stylists, and entrepreneurs, just to name a few, and shifted to elementary school to start planting those seeds early in our children’s lives. As Assistant Principal, she is excited to push our community toward academic excellence through fostering a cohesive and supportive student culture on campus.
