Kevin Hood

Assistant Principal

Bio

Mr. Hood was born and raised in northern California. He received his B.A. in Liberal Studies from Simpson University. He went on to earn his Master’s degree in Education from the University of Phoenix. His career in education began in 2008 at Sacramento High School where he had many different roles; Math Teacher, Activities Director, Student Government Teacher, and Basketball Coach. The bulk of his time at Sac High was spent as a Dean of Students. In 2016 he accepted a job at ATSA as a Dean of Students. In 2018 he was promoted to the role of Assistant Principal. One of the many reasons that this work is so important to Mr. Hood is, he loves watching students move onto college, seeing alum earn a college degree, and seeing alum come back to Sacramento to make a difference in their communities. Mr. Hood is married to his wife, Janay, and they have two boys, Zach and Shane. When he is away from work, he enjoys time with his family and enjoys watching the Dallas Cowboys and Sacramento Kings play.
