Joel Ramirez

Bio

Joel Ramirez is an educational leader who has led in schools in multiple capacities for over 15 years. He has served as a special education aide, teacher, dean of students, assistant principal, principal, and principal coach.   For the last 14 years, He has led the Aspire Ollin community in various roles. As a founding member,  he helped Aspire Ollin transition from a middle school to a full 6th-12th grade Secondary.  Joel’s passion for serving the Aspire community comes from his belief that quality education should be accessible to all students.  

As a first-generation high school and college graduate, he struggled with navigating the educational system.  He believes that his educational accomplishments would not have happened if it weren’t for the support of his family and community network. As an educator,  he hopes to be part of an educational community that supports the next generation to become who they choose to be, while equipping them with the tools they will need to be successful.  He is grounded in equity practices and seeks to promote school communities that are rigorous and support students to develop their inner genius.
