Edwin Castillo
Director of Positive Behavior Student Support Systems and California Community Schools ProgrammingBio
As the Director of PBSSS and CCSP, Ed Castillo leads the work of supporting assistant principals and deans in cultivating positive, inclusive school cultures across our campuses. Through the implementation of Positive Behavior Interventions and Supports (PBIS), Social Emotional Learning (SEL), and Restorative Practices, Ed helps school teams build systems that center student well-being and growth.
Under his leadership, schools treat behavioral challenges not as disruptions, but as opportunities for healing and learning. His team ensures that all students—especially those needing the most support—receive equitable access to interventions by using data-driven strategies and a whole-child approach.
Ed is passionate about creating environments where students can thrive both socially and academically. He believes that strong systems and compassionate responses empower school communities to grow together.
“Behavior is the language of unmet needs. Supporting mental health means listening to what students are trying to say.”
