Adriana Garlick

Dean of Instruction

Bio

Adriana Casanovas-Garlick (she/her) has been dedicated to the field of education since 2010. Her entire career has been working within the communities of San Joaquin County, 9 years in the city of Stockton. She began her work in education as a Bilingual Para-Professional in a Resource Specialist Program and Community Liaison for the Spanish-speaking community before transitioning into the classroom full-time. While in the classroom, Adriana’s passion widened including the mentoring and development of teachers. Every year in education it was evident that playing a role in the educational pathways of students within the community of Stockton is what she was meant to do.

Outside of her career, Adriana has a wonderful and supportive fiancé, Edward, two wonderful children, and two grandchildren. Her eldest son, Daniel, is currently serving in the United States Navy. Her daughter, Julia, is in her fourth year at Chico State where she is pursuing a degree in education as well. Her two granddaughters, Avery and Morgan, are the newest joy in her life, both born in 2022. In her free time, Adriana loves to hike, kayak, relax in Lake Tahoe, and spend as much time with her family.

There is nothing that excites Adriana more than becoming the Dean of Instruction at Aspire River Oaks Charter School. It thrills her to be part of creating a foundation within a school where all students thrive socially and emotionally and receive the equitable education that they truly deserve.
