Alicia Bowman

Alicia brings several decades of education and leadership experience to Aspire as she joins our team. A Bay Area native, she is a graduate of Oakland Technical High School and began her teaching career in OUSD. During her career, she has served as a principal and in multiple district office roles. She also worked at the National Equity Project as a senior coach for several years. Most recently, Alicia was an Improvement Specialist for WestEd, working with leaders across the country to improve their leadership capacities and systems to address educational inequities at the local, state, and national levels. Alicia volunteers as a Strategic Advisor for the Nevada Adolescent Literacy Network, a network formed to support the improvement of adolescent literacy across the state of Nevada. When she is not working, she enjoys spending time with her family, reading, sewing, being outdoors, and stargazing.
