Statewide Benefit Charter

In January of 2007, the State Board of Education approved Aspire Public Schools’ petition for a Statewide Benefit Charter on the basis that Aspire could provide instructional services that could not be provided by a charter operating in a single district or county.  As one of only a small number of Charter Management Organizations in California to be granted a Statewide Benefit Charter, Aspire will continue its expansion to provide quality education to the most underserved communities in the state.

Under Aspire’s Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with the State Board of Education and the California Department of Education, Aspire is required to comply with a variety of conditions to open and operate its Statewide Benefit Charter Schools.
