Kims Plantin

Bio

Kims Plantin is a highly accomplished and dedicated Registered Nurse with a Bachelor of Science in Nursing degree. He has obtained eight nursing board certifications, including Certified Emergency Nurse(CEN), Critical Nurse Board Certified (CCRN), Cardiac Medicine(CMC), Cardiac Surgery(CSC), Certified Pediatric Emergency Nurse(CPEN),  Certified Flight Registered Nurse(CFRN), Certified Transport Registered Nurse(CTRN), and Trauma Certified Registered Nurse(TCRN). Kims has been an RN in the US for over a decade, gaining experience in various states such as New York, Texas, Wisconsin, and California. Throughout his career, he has received numerous awards and honors for his exceptional bedside care.

Currently, Kims works as an RN in the Liver Transplant/Surgical/Trauma Intensive Care Unit (ICU) at Stanford Hospital. In 2023, he was awarded the prestigious Nurse of the Year award at Stanford and the coveted DAISY award for extraordinary nurses. In January 2024, he was also awarded the Stanford Hospital CICARE award for outstanding patient care.

In addition to his work in the ICU, Kims also serves as a preceptor for new nurses in the emergency room. He is an active member of several medical associations, including the Emergency Nurse Association, the American Association of Critical Care Nurses, the Trauma Nurse Society, the American Association of Nurse Practitioners, and the American Association for Men in Nursing.

Kims’ commitment to continuous learning and professional growth is evident in his current enrollment in a Master of Science program in Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner. Set to graduate in May 2025, he is dedicated to expanding his knowledge and skills to better serve his patients. Before embarking on his nursing career, Kims served as a residential supervisor for two facilities in NYC, providing housing for adults with mental illness. His academic achievements include an Associate degree in Nursing, where he graduated valedictorian, and a Bachelor of Science in Social Work from Niagara University, where he received the Outstanding Leadership Award.

Outside of his professional life, Kims is a family man and an avid traveler. He enjoys exploring new places with his wife, Myrnarey, and his daughter, Amelia. He also cherishes his roots and often visits his home country of Haiti to spend quality time with his family.
