For the last 13 years, Karen Ringewald has been an educator striving to close the opportunity gap for scholars. Karen started her career in education as a 6th grade teacher in the Los Angeles Unified School District. Karen is passionate about creating and fostering schools that provide students with holistic learning opportunities that prepare them academically and social-emotionally to succeed through college and become critically literate members of society. Karen has served as a classroom teacher, an intervention specialist, a lead teacher, a mentor teacher, an After School Director, a Dean of Students, and an Assistant Principal prior to her role as Principal. Karen studied government as an undergraduate at Cornell University and earned her Master of Public Administration from Cornell University. Karen also earned a Master of Arts in Education from Cal State Dominguez Hills and a Master of Education in Instructional Leadership from the Reach Institute.
