Aspire Public Schools Discipline Policy
The Student Code of Conduct is intended as a set of guidelines to help us communicate about behavior and discipline more effectively. It was designed after extensive conversations with teachers, parents, students, and administrators. It is not designed to be a rulebook, but rather a set of guiding principles to help us ensure that students and teachers can learn in a safe and supportive environment where discipline is fair, equitable, and proportionate. The levels consists of the following:

  • Level 1: These behaviors are short-term acts that interfere with the orderly operations of the classroom, a school function, extracurricular/co-curricular program or approved transportation.
  • Level 2: These behaviors are moderate disruptive acts of misconduct that interfere with orderly operations in a classroom, a school function, extracurricular/co-curricular program or approved transportation or repeated acts from level 1.
  • Level 3: These behaviors are moderate to severe disruptive acts of misconduct that interfere with the orderly operations of the classroom, a school function, extracurricular/co-curricular program or approved transportation or repeated acts from level 2.
  • Level 4: These behavior are major acts of misconduct that interfere with the orderly operations of the classroom, a school function, extracurricular/co-curricular program or approved transportation or repeated acts from level 3.
  • Level 5: These behaviors are serious acts of misconduct. Any level 5 behaviors are grounds for a mandatory expulsion as mandated by Tennessee Code Annotated § 49-6-3401.

Principal’s Message

Dear Families & Friends,

Welcome to our Aspire Coleman family! The mission of Aspire Coleman is to provide high quality educational opportunities and experiences through rigorous academic preparation and character advancement that empowers all students to achieve success in high school, college, and life. From the moment a scholar steps in the doors of Aspire Coleman they will be committing themselves to the practice of education and excellence. Our vision is to equip every child with the necessary skills in order to obtain a college degree, become productive citizens, and be a catalyst for social change.

As the demands and complexities of educating children increase, it becomes even more apparent that it truly takes a village to raise a child and that we need to work together to ensure that our children reach their full potential. As we build a community of excellence for our scholars, families, and staff, we invite you to be an active participant in our scholars’ education.  There will be several opportunities throughout the school year to be involved in activities such as conferences, field trips, programs, community events, and so much more. For years we have had a strong Family Advisory Council and we encourage you to join.

If you ever have any questions or concerns, please feel free to reach out to me or your child’s educator. I am so excited for a wonderful year and look forward to working together as we push our scholars to achieve not only academic success in a college for certain atmosphere, but to grow socially, emotionally, and behaviorally.

For our scholars,

Queria Nunnley

Principal, Aspire Coleman
