CALENDARS & SCHEDULES

Key Events

August

Back to School Night
Each year we celebrate coming back to school with our students and families by hosting Back to School Night. This is an opportunity for families to get to know the teacher, the policies and procedures and other families.

September

Hispanic Heritage Month
Throughout the month of September we celebrate the history and culture of Latinos. At the end of the month on a Saturday, the students perform for the parents a variety of traditional dances from all over Latin America. We conclude the performance with a potluck lunch.

October

Pancake Breakfast
EPACS is fortunate to have so many supporters and volunteers throughout the school year. Every year we celebrate our volunteers and our students through an annual Pancake Breakfast. This is also a time when we can introduce new community members to the EPACS community.

December

Winter Festival
Our Winter Festival is a great time to have fun. The students sign seasonal songs and the families participate in competitive games for prizes. We are fortunate to have partnered with the Boys and Girls Club to host our event in their gymnasium because we typically have the Winter Festival on a Friday night and it is too cold in December to hold it in our outdoor campus.

February

Black History Month
Through out the month of February we celebrate the history and culture of African Americans as part of Black History Month. At the end of the month, the students perform dances, songs and poetry for the families. Afterwards we enjoy a traditional Soul Food dinner prepared by the parents.

May

GREEN Week
During the month of May our Organic Garden looks absolutely amazing. We celebrate the work and life that our garden promotes during a week called GREEN Week. GREEN Week focuses on the importance of composting, using recyclable materials in our cafeteria and eating nutritious food. The week ends with a Saturday celebration on our campus with activities, music, food and fun for everyone!

June

Science Fair
At the end of the school year our students are extremely focused on creating the best Science Fair project in the history of EPACS. They work on their science fair projects for about two months and towards the end of June on a Saturday around 40-50 judges from Stanford come to EPACS to select the best projects for each grade level. The winners are revealed in our annual Science Fair assembly.
